‘A History of the Youth Leadership Project’ Digital Exhibit
For my final project in Community Archives, a graduate course taught by Maggie Schriener at NYU in Fall 2024, I created this digital exhibit for the CAAAV Digital Archive, a digital repository built on Omeka that contains digitized newsletters, photographs, and audiovisual materials created and collected by CAAAV Organizing Asian Communities during over three decades of community organizing in low-income Asian immigrant and refugee communities in New York City.
The digital exhibit traces the history of the Youth Leadership Project (YLP), a group led by Southeast Asian youth who advocated for education, health care, housing, welfare, and economic justice for Vietnamese and Cambodian communities in the Bronx for over a decade.
